Store Manager
In an effort to make our site more personal, here’s some information about your store manager.
Most of my friends call me Liz, although a few refer to me as “Meixler,” a remnant of playing sports as a child. From the time I was five, I was a soccer player who slowly added field hockey, track, and rugby to my list of competitive sports. My mother, an avid reader and middle school English teacher, read to me nightly before I was tucked in. Stories ranged from The Berenstain Bears, to Mr. Gumpy’s Motor Car and everything in between. Hands down, my favorite was the Amelia Bedelia series by Peggy Parish. Parish’s play with words would have me laughing as I fell asleep.
Through my tween years, as it is often referred to now, I read the American Girl and Nancy Drew series. In fifth grade, I first read Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird and, to this day, it remains one of my favorite books. Sometimes, though, I need my “girly” books, for which I rely on Janet Evanovich. I LOVE the Stephanie Plum series, and have read all fourteen in the past year! My passion for reading does not stop at romance novels. I also LOVE magazines. People, Rolling Stone, and Newsweek are my favorites.
I know, People, Rolling Stone and Newsweek . . . it’s such a collection, you must be wondering how old I am. Twenty. Yes, twenty. How can a twenty year old be a manager of an online bookstore, you ask. Simple. Drexel University, which I am currently enrolled in as a marketing and entreprenurialship major, offers a co-op program. Therefore, I work for six months and go to school for six months. Because I’m in a five year program, my expected graduation date is 2012. Wish me luck!
